BLOWOFF To Blow Up Atlanta, 4th Of July, 2009!

Rock and electronic music powerhouses Richard Morel and Bob Mould continue to add cities to the roster for their wildly successful dance party, BLOWOFF.

On the heels of the capacity crowd launch of BLOWOFF Chicago during Memorial Day / IML / Bear Pride Weekend comes the news that BLOWOFF will debut in Atlanta on Saturday, July 4, 2009, coinciding with Atlanta Bear Fest 2009.

Vinyl will be the newest venue to host this musical smackdown featuring the DJ duo Richard Morel and Bob Mould's meaty signature mix of indie rock, electro and house and killer visuals. Named after the deciding fight in a pro wrestling match, BLOWOFF originated in Washington DC six years ago before expanding to New York City, San Francisco, Provincetown, Brooklyn, Chicago and now Atlanta.

Richard Morel is known for his remixes under the name Pink Noise (he just remixed The Killer’s “Human”), co-wrote and co-produced three songs on Cyndi Lauper’s “Bring Ya To The Bring” album and released his third solo album as Morel, “The Death Of The Paper Boy,” in 2008.

Bob Mould, founding member of the seminal punk band Husker Du and alt-rock favorite Sugar, will see the release of his ninth solo album, “Life And Times” (Anti- Records), on April 7. Mould’s yet-to-be-titled autobiography, with assistance from Michael Azerrad, will be published by Little, Brown in fall 2010.
